  1. So much to like about this image: its beautiful composition and tonal quality, and the open-ended experience of quiet self-reflection.

      • I’ve always felt that every picture we take says something about the photographer.

        Two Ansel Adams quotes:

“To the complaint, ‘There are no people in these photographs,’ I respond, There are always two people: the photographer and the viewer.”

“A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed.”

        • Wise words. To be honest, and it might sound superficial, I never reflected about the meaning of photography that much, the “Sinn” as we call it in german. I just do it and try to follow my instincts. Being an amateur there is nothing that forces me into theory. But I’m very thrilled about the quotes. The first one expresses the photographers situation very well. How often did I hear the question “Where are the people” as I started with landscape photography as a teenager …

  2. Die Spiegelung des Gesichtes ist hier der Hingucker. Als würde der Mann mit seinem Gegenüber Gedanken austauschen. Das Treppenhaus zeigt hier die Gedankengänge. Ich find’s grandios!
