  2. Excellent work, Karl. The black and white is perfect for these. it’s impressive that you captured those women’s hands like that – how did you see that? I really like the facial expressions in the first photo, too. And the way the woman bending down lines up with the pole in #2. Enjoy your weekend! 😉

    • Yes, it wouldn’t work without black and white. Of course, this makes the pictures look a bit outdated. Sometimes it’s also too much retro style for me. But in this case, I already perceived the pictures as black and white when I took them. #3 is an absolute stroke of luck. I saw the moment, pressed the shutter button, but didn’t think I’d succeeded in taking the shot: the hands on the harp in the railing. I only saw the successful result on the big screen at home. In many other cases, it tends not to work out …

      • The more you’re out there with your camera, the better you get at seeing and recording those crazy moments. But of course it doesn’t always work. Looking at the first photo again, it has a timeless feeling. Not retro or outdated but really timeless, in a good way. Something about the way the two figures in the middle are just stepping off the escalator and looking out toward “the future.” Then you see the guy in the back and the young woman on the left and they add something undefinable – it all looks like it happened on a stage.
