  1. The fourth photo is amazing, hilarious. We can only hope that the photographer switched the picture view before pressing the button. 😉 The last photo is wonderfully bizarre and fun to see with the third one. I like them all. Do you know anything about the statue in the first photo?

    • These images should all correspond with each other. You have seen it. #3 and #6 belong together. #4 is my secret favorite. The story in the picture is just too weird. The Roman statue shows an Amazon on horseback. It was found in Pompeii. The Archaeological Museum in Naples is a world of its own. Absolutely fascinating! One day is almost not enough to see everything.

      • I really wondered if it was a modern take on ancient sculpture – the flailing limbs and obviously strong, female body seem so modern. Truly amazing! It’s hard to image what kind of mind/world the people who created and admired that statue lived in, way back then.
        One day is never enough in large museums. 🙂

        • Yes, it’s always amazing to see how far ancient sculptors have already come artistically. It must be assumed that these sculptures were more for decorative purposes. They are often contemporary copies of Greek originals. They stood in the villas and gardens of Pompeii. The forum and the baths were also richly decorated with figures. It is not art in the modern sense, as an expression of an artist’s point of view. It was a world in which decoration obviously had to meet the highest standards.

  2. Weil wieder keiner guckt.
    Das Mutter-Tochter-Bild (mutmasslich) empfinde ich als besonders bitter, dass dieses Kind, glaubt, es werde fotografiert, aber die Kamera das Gesicht der Mutter zeigt, die anscheinend ein Selfie macht.

    • Du hast es bemerkt! Das ist großartig! Ich fand den Moment allerdings nicht bitter, sondern eher heiter. Das Bild ist ein Beleg der manchmal schon schrägen Handymanie. Da sind wir uns einig.

      • Ich war auch im Zwiespalt und hatte gleichzeitg Vorstellungen von einer anderen, weniger zurückhaltenden Tochter, sondern einer nervigen, die in einer Tour die Aufmerksamkeit haben wollte, weil sie mit der Ausstellung sonst nichts anzufangen wusste, aber der Mutter so auf den Senkel ging, dass die sich mal einen Moment ausgeblendet hat, um sich selbst vor einem Gegenstand abzubilden. Mütter werden oft nicht fotografiert, sondern dokumentieren nur immer die liebe Familie.
        Man kann sich zu deinen Bildern immer ganze Romane ausdenken.
